Compliance plans to other deficiencies will also need to be submitted.  The Building/Facility committee will have a walk-through of the buildings on May 22, after the Senior breakfast.  Several references were contacted and the District would be able to extend the terms of Diemer, Kruger, and Liepold for another year, to coincide with the General Election.  This would allow the District to save funds that would be needed to obtain voting equipment.  The District has been selected to participate in the Minnesota Rural Education Leadership Program.  Stenzel will be the Board member that will be attending.  A meeting will be planned with the new Heron Lake mayor and city council. This will update everyone involved with the agreement made for the land around the Elementary School.  Repairs to the propane tank at Okabena have been authorized.  More extensive repairs will need to be done, but they can safely wait until school is out.  Class breakdown of the NWEA scores were reviewed. Improvements in the math scores are seen.

A letter of resignation from Doyle Zellar as the assistant boy’s basketball coach for the ’07-’08 school year was read.  He felt that the new course work for the upcoming year would not permit him to have enough time for coaching.  Diemer moved, seconded by Hesemann, to approve the resignation.  The motion carried unanimously.  Advisement of the position opening will be posted.

Evie Hussong requested retirement from the foodservice department. She has been a cook since

A Cross Country agreement with the Windom District was reviewed.  After surveying potential students and their parents, there would not be enough runners to complete a team at SWU.  Volk moved, seconded by Stenzel, to approve this agreement with the Windom District.  The motion carried unanimously.

Diemer moved, seconded by Hesemann, to approve purchase 50% of the contract of Jen Schoenfeld from the RLB District.  The motion carried unanimously.
